Suicide Squad is one of those movies that some fans want to forget. However, it seems that it is not yet time to leave the criticized 2016 film directed by David Ayer completely in the past and indeed, during the next week, a reminder of the film will arrive at the cinema.
In an interview with CinemaBlend's ReelBlend podcast, the director of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), Cathy Yan, said that in order to perform a specific part of Harley Quinn's story in her film she had to resort to material that was filmed as part of Suicide Squad.
“We use some images of Suicide Squad, yes,” said the director. "I think we modified it a bit to fit our world."
Yan specifically told which scene the images of Suicide Squad were used for and why they didn't choose to film those moments again, but we have to warn them that some people might consider this as a small spoiler.
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will resume the story of the villain played by Margot Robbie and from her vision she will present to the public the fight against Black Mask that will lead alongside characters such as Cassandra Cain, Black Canary, Renee Montoya and huntress.
In that sense, Yan said the movie will use Suicide Squad material to remember how the doctor who once worked at Arkham became the unpredictable villain.
